Moving a cell

A cell (and any contents that it contains) can be moved by clicking and dragging the border of the cell. When you drag to a new location, you must hold the left mouse button down.

You must click once on the cell you want to move, otherwise you are not telling the computer which cell you want to move.

At the first, the problem you may have is clicking precisely on the border.

You will know your cursor is over the border when it changes from a white cross to a white arrow, as in the illustration below.

Cursor is a White Cross
Cursor is a White Arrow

Hold down the left mouse button and drag the cell to a new location and let go.

Try this a few times to practise? Download the practise spreadsheet.
